Job Description

We seek to hire a Transportation Engineer PE in our Raleigh, NC office who will be responsible for performing the analysis and design of projects involving interstates and interchanges, urban roadways and bridges, site grading, storm water management, erosion control and site plan preparation. 

General responsibilities include:

  • Working on a multi-discipline design team of architects, engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects
  • Reviewing the work of Engineers in Training (EITs) and CAD Technicians assigned to the team
  • Leading the production of contract documents
  • Satisfying project budget and schedule requirements
  • Meeting with clients to prepare and validate scope of work
  • Performing transportation services associated with the bidding process and the construction phase, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings
  • Preparing accurate, complete, and code-compliant transportation drawings and specifications for schematic, design development, and construction document submittals
  • Conducting project code analysis for review by Senior Engineers
  • Ensuring compliance with quality control policies and procedures
  • Working with, and taking direction from senior transportation engineers, project managers and design managers

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in one of the following disciplines:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Civil and Environmental Engineering
    • Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering
    • Civil Engineering Technology
  • 2 years of work experience as a Transportation Engineer EIT (Engineer in Training)
  • Authorization to practice as Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of North Carolina
  • Local and regional travel to client sites for meetings and site visits, compromising approximately 5-10% of work time
